War on Mom n’ Pop?

by TBird

cheezburger.com

“The President signed this assault on our Bill of Rights on New Year’s Eve, 2011. Those who still believe in him think he’s being blackmailed by world financiers, skeptics think he’s sold out. Whatever you think, it reeks with the odor of lobby. It really is a shame that for all his smarts, he’s letting his advisors lead him around by the nose. Tsk, Tsk, Mr. President. I really did think more of you. Sad to see you basically just declare war upon the American Citizenry and declare America a “battleground” where mom and pop will now have to endure jacked up military dudes showing up in riot gear to check out granny’s save the whale posts. Yeah? Greenpeace is now a terrorist group? Who knew? Granny, there’s some dudes here to see you.

Granny takes one long look at them and says ‘how much is that gear costing me, dudes?’  ”  – Rabble Rouser

Defense Industry Bringing The War Home?

by Rabble Rouser

How Long Will The American People Let Corporate Tyrants Own Their Government? photo: ipsnews.net

Tick tock people – time to wake up.  There are chilling things that could be happening this very minute.  Our president is poised to sign a document that shreds our Bill of Rights.  Here I thought I voted for a Constitutional Scholar.  I thought he’d protect our rights, not sign them away.  He will be losing the coveted Independent Vote with a stupid move like this.  He will lose the votes of all those starry eyed liberals who voted for him thinking he could perform miracles.  He will only be licking the boot heels of the Republicans, who wrote this assault upon the American Citizen, and who have declared war against him anyway.   What a stupid move, Mr. President.  Your “note” attached will not save you.

What is happening to America, folks?

Time Will Tell

by TBird

The Persistence of Time by Dali. photo: ideachampions.com

Whose ideas will prevail?

Will the 1%, who control the world’s resources, continue to fool the people into thinking they’re on their side?

Or, will history repeat itself, and people wake up, when the suffering has become enough?

America – Land of The Free?

by Rabble Rouser

Home of the Brave?

Land of the Free, Home of the Brave?

Take a look at the nonchalant stance of this cop.  Does this look free?  No.  Brave?  Nope.

From New York, to Oakland.  Cities and police all across America, are abusing their power.

Nonchalant Pepper Spraying of blinding pepper spray on UC Davis students.

“Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November…”

by TBird

dccomics.com

Today is the day they’re talking about.  Guy Fawkes day.   The Fifth of November.   Why is that such a big deal?  Who is Guy Fawkes?

I, being perhaps the last one on the interwebz who had not seen V. For Vendetta, finally watched it tonight.  Figured I’d at least see what all the fuss was about.

Cardboard Revolution

by Rabble Rouser

It’s not pitchfoks and shovels, this time.

It’s cardboard.

What started as a ragtag bunch of peaceful protesters on Wall Street, has now blossomed into a worldwide Occupy Movement.  When people around the world started to see the peaceful assembly being attacked and peaceful, unarmed protesters being brutalized by “public servants” who are supposed to “serve and protect” them, more and more supported them.  Veterans showed up, to help protect them.  A worldwide movement is now in full swing, with countries as far away as both Egypt and Israel, marching in solidarity with U.S. protesters who have been brutalized beyond belief.

One such protester, US Marine Scott Olsen, survived two tours in Iraq, only to come home and get hit in the head by an Oakland Police “projectile” and suffered brain injury to the speech center of his brain.  His crime?  Simply peacefully assembling.  He is said to have “provoked no one” and footage of the incident shows there was no cause for police to abuse their power so forcefully that night.

Think about that one for a minute. Injured like this.  Suffering brain damage to the speech center of his brain.

A two tour veteran of the United States.  Literally silencing his speech.  Simply for standing up for his right to free speech.

It’s enough to leave anyone speechless.

Occupy The Vote.

The world is watching, as cable news proves how irrelevant they are as a “news” source.

It’s all over the internet.

Do not let them silence your voice.  Do not let them silence your vote.  It is the only thing we have that is more powerful than all of them.

Thank you, Warren Buffet.

Warren Buffett plays ukelele. Photo: weakonomics.com

It appears Warren Buffet agrees with Palomino Road.  It’s time to take the diapers off, and stop coddling the super rich.  During the depression, everyone sacrificed to help revive the economy.  It’s time for those with the money, to invest in this country, or pay their fair share of taxes, since they enjoy using our infrastructure so much.  Clinton’s tax rates didn’t break the economy, in fact, we had record growth.

Limp Investing

by Rabble Rouser

photo:thisamericanlife.org

So much about how “anxious” the market is, you’d think investors were toddlers.  Smart investments abound, yet for some reason, those hoardingmost of the cash are squeamish about investing in small business.  As if we all need to cater and coddle them, coax them into investing in a country that has a track record for innovation and entrepreneurs.
