Hide The Porn.

Teavangelical Nightmare

Conservative? No. Theocratic nightmare? Uh, yeah. Many of us reasonable folk ask, how are these people even being considered for the Presidency?  C’mon, we need to create a 21st century economy and create living-wage jobs in this country and Bachmann wants to invade your bedroom and burn your porn.  Jobs will magically appear if you keep your hands off your privates and give your heart to Jesus.

Rating Agencies Rigged?

by Rabble Rouser

Loan sharks corner the market as banks and rating agencies have been caught with their hand in the cookie jar one too many times.  How long before we stop running scared, letting them run the show?  How long, before actions are heinous enough for those who are allowing them to perpetrate these economic catastrophucks say enough? And when will those who say they want to be fiscally conservative learn that threatening to default for grandstanding ended up costing taxpayers more money.

Adventure in a Sea of Prufrock.

by TBird

“Every man I knew went to bed with Gilda – and woke up with me.” Rita Hayworth. photo: carnegiestout.blogspot.com

Summer’s in full swing.  Don’t blink, or it might go by.  Much to see, do, so many counting on you.  Hard to get away, even for a day.  Funny how some of us still think of those three odd months as a time to go a little crazy.  Adventure waits around the corner between now and then.  The night can whisper by unnoticed, or rage on, wildfires set ablaze in waves.

“Madcap” Legislators, Wall St. Casino.

"Goldman Sachs has engineered every major market manipulation since ... " charlesgoyette.com

Guess it’s time for the market to take a dip.  Are short sellers lighting cigars somewhere?  All it takes is a hush, a whisper and a false report, to bring down an entire company overnight.  Yes, because regulators are so intent on pleasing their corporate masters, they threaten to plunge America into default, rather than bite the hand that feeds them.

Yes.  The boom and busting bubble market will always pop and go down.  Those who are hoarding cash will go shopping for the low, low price of whatever they decide to plunge the price down to.  If you’ve already got investments, hold on.  The roller coaster usually comes on the heels of political news, so it’s not surprising to see it happening now.

The Beat Goes On.

by TBird

photo: crushable.com

If, as one Greek philosopher put it, the world is always in a state of flux, or change, then what is one to hold on to, when the seas are shifting, and sands blow in different directions? Keep trudging along forward, I suppose.  Your own motion, steadily, toward your target.  You’ll find adventure along the way, which is where most of the fun is.  On the side of the road, up a road you never meant to go down, or in the back roads you never knew about.“The end of the road gets more and more narrow, so follow as many roads as can take you, before you get to the end,” she said.  Continue Reading…

Who Benefits, If America Defaults?

by Rabble Rouser

Not America.  Not you.  Not me.  Who holds our debt?  Multinational banks?  Who do our politicians work for?  America? Or something else?  Why would they do something that would help big banks get bigger interest rates, and crash our economy even worse than it is now? Do they want America to fail?

Wall Street is once again so corrupt, they’re like children misbehaving, begging for discipline.

Wild Things

by TBird

Photo: Jodie Sinclair

Rock n’ roll was once wild.  There was what was accepted, and sweaty gyrations or Elvis’ pelvis.   Rebels, bearcats and  wild  creatures who screeched and wailed, beckoning the angst and fury of an entire generation, to burst.  Rock n’ roll was steamy, rebellious and bucked the tide, before it was wrangled to the ground and muzzled.  Jazz and boogie woogie.  Wild things singing to the moon.   Wild things running unknown.  Running fast.  Finding ways to drive you wild.  In the country, they fly and scamper.  In the city, it’s a bit more rough. Priorities!

by Mike729

Photo: timetooperate.com

No matter your political bent, what we spend our money on in this country is – or should be – important to all taxpayers. Politicians, lately, all seem to make their claims under the banner of  “the American People” want this, and won’t stand for that, all really to sell us on their agenda, usually bought and paid for by those that financed their campaign. Certainly, the “will of the people” should be what all elected officials work to implement, but it isn’t happening now.

What are the People’s priorities? What do we want to spend our money on?

Divided, Not Yet Conquered.

by TBird

Gaius Julius Caesar coined the phrase “divide et impera,” – divide and conquer – and used it to defeat the Gauls.   Do you want to be conquered?  While we on the left and right are busy fighting amongst ourselves about wedge issues, those who seek to conquer and control this country are running your government and taking its spoils for themselves.  Time to wake up and smell the Citizenry.  If roughly half of the eligible voters in this country register, and only roughly half of those who register bother to vote, then who’s running the country?
