Free Assembly.

by TBird

People have the right, in America, to free assembly.  Without being pepper sprayed.

Women who are cordoned off in peaceful protest, are shot in the eye with pepper spray by the NYPD. This is America, remember? We have the right to peaceful assembly. photo: buzzfeed.com

Occupy The Vote.

by Rabble Rouser

The world is watching, as cable news proves how irrelevant they are as a “news” source.

It’s all over the internet.

Do not let them silence your voice.  Do not let them silence your vote.  It is the only thing we have that is more powerful than all of them.

While vacationing down Palomino Road, a voice that used to light up the sky on a daily basis, went out.  The world went quiet on his passing.   Continue Reading…

Can switching toilet paper and swearing off Dixie cups save the U.S.A.?

by Constant Rita

It couldn’t hurt.

These brands are manufactured by Georgia-Pacific, owned by Koch Industries.  I haven’t considered buying Brawny or Angel Soft for many years – since recycled paper products appeared on the shelves.  My personal boycott had nothing to do with oil-industry billionaires Charles and David Koch, whose leviathan energy conglomerate purchased Georgia-Pacific in December, 2005.  Frankly, I’d never heard of the Koch brothers before they were revealed as the Tea Party’s financial backers.

Thank you, Warren Buffet.

Warren Buffett plays ukelele. Photo: weakonomics.com

It appears Warren Buffet agrees with Palomino Road.  It’s time to take the diapers off, and stop coddling the super rich.  During the depression, everyone sacrificed to help revive the economy.  It’s time for those with the money, to invest in this country, or pay their fair share of taxes, since they enjoy using our infrastructure so much.  Clinton’s tax rates didn’t break the economy, in fact, we had record growth.

It’s Elvis’ World, We Just Live in It

by TBird

There are a few things that define life as we know it.  Elvis.  The Twist.  Rock n’ Roll.  Growing up in the shadow of Elvis, meant entire generations who defined their life, let alone hairstyle, on whole or in part, from Elvis.  He was able to take the rhythm and blues of honky tonks and the “chitlin curcuit,” and bring them to the mainstream.  With just the right blend of bad boy in black meets country boy smile, he made girls go weak in the knees, and guys want to look like him. United States of Texas?

by Rabble Rouser

photo: progressiverambler.blogspot.com

Rick Perry is gonna outdo George Bush on being a Texan?  Will he answer the question – if Texas is rolling in so much dough, why do they need so much government assistance?  Why can’t they pay for their own disaster victims?  It appears, they like government help when it comes to securing their borders, but when it comes to anything else, wasn’t Perry the dude who wanted to secede from the Union?  It seems, Perry thinks this country needs another dose of Texas GOP politics, when we’re still surviving the last one.  The approach is perhaps the anti-JFK.  Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you, and your corporate buds.

Limp Investing

by Rabble Rouser

photo:thisamericanlife.org

So much about how “anxious” the market is, you’d think investors were toddlers.  Smart investments abound, yet for some reason, those hoardingmost of the cash are squeamish about investing in small business.  As if we all need to cater and coddle them, coax them into investing in a country that has a track record for innovation and entrepreneurs.
